London, October 2025 — The United Arab Emirates Embassy in London hosted friends, leaders, and partners from across business, culture, politics, and the wider community at the relaunch of the Emirates Society.
The reception, held at 5 Hertford Street and co-hosted with Businessman Robin Birley and Entrepreneur Sir Ben Elliot, marked a new chapter for the Society as a permanent champion of the UAE–UK partnership.
In his welcome address, His Excellency Mansoor Abulhoul, UAE Ambassador to the United Kingdom, highlighted the Society’s role in strengthening connections between the two nations: “The Emirates Society embodies the spirit of our nations’ friendship.
A partnership built not only on shared history and strategic cooperation, but on the friendships, opportunities and values that bind our people together. This relaunch ensures the Society can continue to serve as a platform for dialogue, cooperation and progress in the years ahead.”
Mr Robin Birley said: “It is a privilege to support the Emirates Society in its relaunch. This is an important platform for deepening the close bonds between our two countries. ”Sir Ben Elliot added: “The Emirates Society has a unique role in bringing people together and showcasing the strength of the UAE–UK relationship. I am delighted to help celebrate this new chapter.”
The Ambassador reflected on the enduring importance of partnership, citing the UAE–UK Sovereign Investment Partnership signed in 2021, which has already supported 50,000 jobs with projections of another 280,000 by 2030.
He underscored that “these are not just numbers, but improved lives and critical investment in the UK’s future.”
Above all, His Excellency emphasised that the Society will be about people: those who dedicate time and energy to building bridges between the two nations, and who represent the “beating heart” of the UAE–UK relationship.
The evening celebrated the friendships and connections that continue to shape the UAE–UK relationship.
